Swire Properties recently demolished the former Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Brickell Key. In its place, the developer will construct the Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, an ultra-luxury twin-tower property with private residences and a new hotel.
So far, Swire has sold $1.3 billion of the units ahead of groundbreaking, including March’s record-breaking dual penthouse sales totaling $100 million. Units in the project’s South Tower start at $6.6 million, while North Tower homes begin at $3.9 million.
The controlled-implosion of the 23-story hotel and its adjacent six-story parking structure took place in only a few seconds on April 12. Crews will now begin removing debris in a process that will last up to six months. Groundbreaking is expected to take place later this year, with construction expected to last four years and delivery in 2030.
“Mandarin Oriental has been a defining part of Brickell Key for more than two decades, and the brand’s legacy will live on with the development of two towers set to transform residential living and hospitality in Miami,” Swire President Dave Martin said. “With demolition now behind us, our team is eager to get going with vertical construction as we entertain buyers from across the U.S. and around the world.”
The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, which will offer 228 private condominiums in the 66-story South Tower and 70 private residences, 28 hotel collection residences and what is planned to be Mandarin Oriental’s new North America flagship hotel with 121 rooms in the 34-story North Tower.
