Robert Curtis doesn’t see mortgages as numbers on a spreadsheet — he sees them as turning points in people’s lives. For more than 22 years, he has helped families navigate one of their biggest financial decisions with clarity, strategy and a calm, steady presence.
A senior loan officer with Wintrust Mortgage and a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago with degrees in marketing and finance, Curtis has become a respected voice in the real estate community. He’s served as a keynote speaker at industry events, and his market insights have been featured in the Chicago Tribune and The Wall Street Journal.
“What I really care about,” Curtis says, “is making sure my clients feel confident. When someone is buying a home, there’s excitement — but there’s also pressure. My job is to remove the uncertainty and replace it with a clear plan.”
He works with first-time buyers, military veterans and luxury purchasers alike, approaching each situation with preparation and perspective. He believes the best transactions happen when everyone involved — agents, buyers, attorneys — operates as a team. Known for anticipating challenges before they arise, he prioritizes communication and transparency, so clients never feel like they’re guessing.
Beyond lending, Curtis is deeply community-driven. The son of a breast cancer survivor, he actively supports the Silver Lining Foundation and its mission to expand access to breast health services. He also volunteers with his local food pantry and participates in area chambers of commerce, believing that strong neighborhoods are built by people who show up for one another.
“At the end of the day, this business runs on trust,” Curtis says. “If people trust you, and you take that responsibility seriously, everything else falls into place.”
