Ancona Real Estate

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I was an experienced veterinary technician who specialized in anesthesia and surgery at the Ohio State University, saving animals lives doing critical life-saving procedures any time of day or night. It was a very rewarding career, and I am involved with the local humane society in Broward County.

Where did you grow up?

I was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, and split my time between there and Grove City, Ohio, where i graduated high school. I later attended the Ohio State University.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

I had always wanted to work in the animal field as child, which I did for 10 years. As a teenager I started to grow an eye for design, which lead me into a passion for real estate and beautiful homes.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

To relax I will take my golden retriever, Odin, on a walk, have some sushi on the beach or enjoy some meditation and journaling out on my balcony.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

I would love to have a coffee with Dolly Parton. Dolly is an inspiration and an icon, encompassing all the best qualities of a professional woman who is truly her own, living fearlessly as her true self and inspiring millions of women.

Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?

Come on down and let me show you!

What do you love most about the industry?

I love that the real estate in South Florida is so innovative, magnificent and unique to other areas in the world. Each property is so unique with mind blowing views of the ocean, intercoastal waterways and captivating skylines. You can truly have your own piece of paradise with South Florida real estate.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

The most difficult aspect of my job is the competition for properties in such a dynamic and sought after market here in South Florida. With more people moving to Florida than any other state in the United States, you need an expert to help you navigate the waters. Pun absolutely intended.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Social media marketing.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I will binge almost any show on HGTV or Cold Case Files. I also love listening to Almost 30 Podcast, a great way to learn and continue growing yourself mentally and spiritually.

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?

Having a favorite meal in south Florida is almost impossible with such a vast variety of foods, cultures and restaurants in every city. I am a foodie. I’m not sure I could choose just one, but it would be in the seafood category no doubt.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?

The Muse Residences in Sunny Isles Beach.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

The stories I have over the 10 years of working in the veterinary field cannot be topped by any real estate story, at least not yet! Haha.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

One of my largest passions is dirt track racing. I grew up at the track from the time I was a baby. Once I got old enough, I had my own car and started racing when I was 11. If you ever want to hit the go kart track or get in some super cars, lets go!

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

My favorite vacation spot was Miami, which is why I moved here. It is so gorgeous, the greenery and beaches, combined with the culture and city life is the best of both worlds: nature and city.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Just be your authentic self, be confident as you.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?

I like to follow local event pages so I always know what is going on in the area: community events, weekly beach yoga, concerts or comedy shows in town, etc.
