Sean Bucknor Realtor

Ancona Real Estate

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Timeshare sales for over 15 years between Las Vegas, Virginia and Florida. Running a tattoo shop on the beach here in South Florida was pretty fun too.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up between Florida and Jamaica, where my family is from, and London, my second home.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a world marketer and make money from all over the world and have to visit different countries to do business and help businesses.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I just retreat to the beach with headphones to let the wind and music calm my nerves. It helps me escape.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
If I could, I would love to meet with Tony Robbins to help guide me to breakthroughs and become even more and bigger then I already am.
Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?
Its waterfront and ocean views. Out here, the vast ocean is our Las Vegas.
What do you love most about the industry?
I love the new friends and bonds created through helping others solve problems and better the quality of their lives. So much comes from helping others.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Buyer financing and qualification. Coming across families I can’t help because of affordability or they don’t qualify for what they want.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Local market expertise, geographic farming. Become a rainmaker and create your own buzz, concentrate on one area and farm it heavily to become the go-to for that area.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I’m actually watching old episodes of Million Dollar Listing New York because that’s the only caliber we all want to be in when doing real estate.
What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?
Chef Tally’s jerk ribs fresh off the grill by the HardRock Cafe area.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?
The Porsche Building. It’s amazing you can have your car parked in you living room in your luxury condominium on the beach. Epic.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
There was a couple getting into a dramatic heated argument at an open house. They were very loud and out of order.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a pilot and have my wings.
What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?
London. I’ve lived there for at years at a time, once for four years. I love that place, the people, food, music and architecture.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Consider hiring one or two people for leverage.
Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Tai Lopez and Peter Ancona. These two have influenced me in ways I’m still trying to understand.
