What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I was a hair salon owner for 30 years in Staten Island, New York, and one of the first females to receive the Master of the Craft award in Hairdressing. I continue to travel back to service my dedicated clients.

Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

I always loved art and wanted to become a graphic designer. I attended the School of Visual Arts in NYC.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

I immediately go to the ocean and meditate.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Princess Diana. Her activism and glamour made her an international icon. She was a pioneer in charity work.

Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?

Dry Tortugas National Park is the best hidden gem. The word “Tortuga” means turtle in Spanish, and here you will find a large number of Sea Turtles, after which these islands were named.

What do you love most about the industry?

Each day its something new. You get to meet new people, different unique properties. You never stop learning and have a chance to ease stress and burden for my clients to help them get where they want to go.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

There is nothing difficult when you love your job and have a game plan. Confidence is the key to success.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Be consistent with marketing, social media and networking, branding yourself to develop a professional identity that sets you apart from others. Most importantly, just be honest and genuine with clients.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I watched the Netflix series, The Parisian Agency. Re-reading Think and Grow Rich and listening to Broke Agent Media.

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?

Cote in the Design District. Love the food, ambiance and crowd. Korean barbecue brings out the Korean in me!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?

Park Central Hotel on Ocean Drive. This beautiful Art Deco building is called the “Blue Jewel of Miami,” and it was the first hotel I stayed when I visited many years ago.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

A client was about to faint while I was talking to her. And no, it was not about the price.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

How much I love the water and ocean. I don’t know how to swim and even took lessons a long time ago.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

I will and always love London. The weather isn’t the greatest but love its culture, museums, architecture and its people.

Find a great mentor and join a team.
