What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I got a bachelor’s in early education. I worked in a nursery school for two years. 

Where did you grow up?

Barranquilla, Colombia. 

Growing up, what did you want to be?

I wanted to be a doctor, but I was scared of blood. 

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

I watch a movie. 

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Pope Francisco. I admire him.

What do you love most about the industry?

I enjoy working for my buyers and sellers. My adrenaline goes high when the negotiating of the offer starts.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Sometimes I wish I had more hours in the day.  

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Keep the communication with past clients and remind them that if they have any friends or family looking to buy or rent to please remember to share my contact information. 

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I am listening to Tony Robbins’ podcast. I love watching Selling Sunset and Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.  

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?

I love going to Le Zoo at Bal Harbour for my truffle pasta. Yummy!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?

One Thousand Museum.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

In my first year doing real estate in 2001, a seller counter-offered my client’s offer, and my buyer accepted on the spot and signed. The seller initialed everything, but he left the signature space empty. I learned my lesson. Since then, I double-check any contracts as many times as I need to.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I was born in Brooklyn, but I grew up in Colombia. 

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

Colombia because I visit and spend time with family. 

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Never give up.
