Agent Snapshot: Dannielle Horn Real Estate Agent, Ancona Real Estate

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I was a probation officer for several years. Every day was different. One day, I am working in the office and the next I am going to the court house to set people up for their house arrest. The day after that, I am doing searches and random checks on offenders.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, in Palm Beach County.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
Growing up I wanted to be a ballerina!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
It might seem odd but I love a good horror movie or to read a fictional novel.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I would love to meet and spend time with Robin Williams. He was one of the celebrity deaths that hit me as if I truly knew him. He brought be such joy through my childhood and teenage years. It hurt to find out someone who brought such joy to us was in pain.

Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?
I would say it’s our Springs! Beautiful clear deep pools of water are something many don’t seem to realize we have.

What do you love most about the industry?
I love that real estate equals opportunity! It doesn’t hurt that I get to tour some once in a life time properties too!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
The most difficult aspect is dealing with a lot of moving parts from loan originator, other agents, appraisers and so much more behind the scenes! I have to make sure a whole team of people from different companies are all on the same page, up to date and meeting deadlines.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
There are so many ways to lead generate and it really depends on your strengths. My advice is to put yourself out there in front of your ideal clients and be social. People work with people they like!

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
Right now, I am waiting for the new season of YOU on Netflix to come out! I am having a watch party for it so that should be a ton of fun.

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?
Personally, I am always on a mission to find the perfect burger. Right now, my top two are Zinburgers and Don Shula’ Shula-burger.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?
The new 100-story Waldorf Astoria Residences that are currently being built. The building has such a futurist look that it’s breathtaking. It will be the tallest skyscraper in Miami once completed.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Do you believe in ghosts?

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I am a huge fan of the arts. I love orchestras, ballet and musicals with a passion.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?
Depends on the season honestly. I love places like Nantucket. The small boat town vibes just help me to feel relaxed.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
I follow a few big names in real estate to stay in the loop. Otherwise, I follow a lot of animal rescue pages as that is another passion of mine.
