Peter J. Ancona, Owner, Ancona Real Estate Miami

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? I was a senior partner in a high-end mortgage lending company with 70 loan officers in three locations that almost became a bank. The company was started from scratch and was very successful during the great mortgage boom years in the early 2000’s.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in New York. It is a wonderful city that is close to my heart.

Growing up, what did you want to be? As a kid, my main goal was to be a real estate investor. I always had in my head a portfolio worth $100 million dollars, making around $6 million in profit per year as a form of passive income.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I wake up each day at 5:45 am to stretch, workout , walk and meditate. At the end of this, I am watching the sunrise and I think of how grateful I am to be alive in the moment and make a difference this very day. This process which I have adopted as a pattern has helped me become strong with the mindset to figure out any stressful situation. Life is full of moments in the day where things will not go as planned. I have taught myself almost like exercising a muscle how to deal with and address what most people would consider stress using my morning process.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would like to meet Tony Robbins. He has helped me on many levels and it would be nice to have a lunch with him in a relaxed environment .

Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret? I am a big fan of The Miami Design District. It is a perfect spot to enjoy a coffee, meal , shop and see some extraordinary art. It’s a testimony to the growth of our amazing city.

What do you love most about the industry? I own a real estate brokerage with 110 realtors. We close hundreds of deals a year and I am fortunate to work with ultra high net worth clients. I love interacting with my clients, learning from their success and helping them move on to a new chapter in their lives. What a gift to have this as my work each day.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? I don’t see any aspects as difficult. Any challenge can be worked on and solved with the right skillset.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Consistency mixed with your own original content that is unique to you personally and not like anyone else in the marketplace. This is what has made me successful . I am on every social media platform including LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.. I have a strong marketing budget where I make one of a kind marketing content by me to stand out on each platform.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? I am binge watching The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. What a great show about skills and survival. We are all fighting every day to survive and thrive.

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida? Lucali in South Beach. After an 18 -ear search, this is my best recommendation for New York style pizza in South Florida.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida? 1000 Museum by Zaha Hadid — beyond stunning and one-of-a-kind. I have several marketing videos on my YouTube Channel where you can see me in this project.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? I once had a showing for one of my listings where the occupants forgot I was coming. When I opened the door to the condo it was completely trashed from a party the night before with the couple not properly dressed. That was a tough showing to pull off.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? Even though I own a large company with over 110 Realtors, I never worked in a company that large before. My fun is learning how to organize it and keep growing

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why? I love the Florida Keys. For me, it’s a special place to relax and it’s also super close to Miami.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Find a Mentor. Message me for my mentorship program.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? @TonyRobbins, @ElonMusk, @RayDalio
