HomeSmart acquired NorthGroup Real Estate in a deal that “significantly” expands its footprint across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. 

Financial terms were not disclosed. 

The acquisition of the Cornelius, North Carolina-based brokerage adds almost 2,000 agents to the HomeSmart network, bringing it to over 27,000 agents and 250 locations nationwide.  

Both companies operate under the 100% commission model in which agents pay a monthly fee to access the brokerage’s support, technology and training. According to the deal announcement, NorthGroup’s agents will continue operating as usual while gaining access to HomeSmart’s national scale and resources.

The acquisition is in keeping with Scottsdale, Arizona-based HomeSmart’s nationwide growth strategy. The company currently has five locations in Florida, six in Georgia, seven in North Carolina and one in South Carolina. A request for more information about NorthGroup’s footprint was not answered by press time.
