Agent Snapshot: Diana Lazo, Realtor, Horizon Homes

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

Being an outreach coordinator for a college program was one of my most interesting jobs. It was fun and innovative. I think encouraging education is very important.

Where did you grow up? Miami

Growing up, what did you want to be? I always knew that whatever I ended up doing, I always wanted to help others. As a Realtor, not only do I help others, but I’m also an educator. I educate and help people find their perfect home.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I make myself a smoothie, a snack plate and watch a movie.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? The woman I was named after, Princess Diana. I admire her humanitarianism.

Where is Miami’s best-kept secret? Not a secret anymore, but I love the luxury feel of Midtown Miami.

What do you love most about the industry? The fact that it is so unpredictable! I like having the opportunity to meet new people and see new places all the time. I love a change of scenery.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? If you’re good at multi-tasking and keeping a work-life balance, you can overcome anything.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Keep an open mind. Be professional. Keep trying. Don’t give up.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? Money Heist.

What’s your favorite meal in Miami? Honestly, anything that is sushi or Mexican food, count me in.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? I found someone taking a nap in one of the bedrooms during one of my showings.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? I play the piano — I studied music for 12 years.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why? Europe. I love everything about European culture: The food, the languages, the social ambiance, everything.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Patience is a virtue.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? @travelandleisure @frenchwords @investingmentors
