Sarah Freitas

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I exercise, take my dog on along walk at either the park or the beach.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil until age 15 and then moved to New York City.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Growing up, I always knew I wanted to do something related to nutrition and fitness. Those are now two very important components of my life.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be? I would love to have lunch with Jorge Perez from The Related Group. I deeply admire Mr. Perez’s vision on real estate, which I believe is one of the reasons the’s succeeded as one of the top developers in Miami. Besides that, I love The Related Group’s projects!

Where is your favorite place to hang out? If I have to pick one, the beach, for sure.

What do you love most about the industry? Being a real estate agent allows me to work with clients, other agents, brokers, attorneys and many more. I love working and meeting all kinds of people.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I love working with people in general and have been exposed to many different cultures. I think that helps me get along with all types of personalities and different backgrounds. The fact that I speak English, Portuguese and Spanish has also allowed me to work and cater to more people and expand my horizons.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? I think the most difficult aspect of my job is time management. I had some difficulty in the very beginning and felt a bit all over the place, but since developing a system that works for me, I have been able to manage my time pretty well. So that is no longer an issue.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I belong to a couple of networking groups, go to a lot of events and have a high rate of referrals.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? I would say my greatest accomplishment was moving to USA at age 15 without even knowing how to speak English and building a life for myself here. It feels good to be able to call myself an American Citizen.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last good movie I saw was Still Alice. Not the best movie, but such a touching story. Made me think about how fragile our health is.

What is your favorite restaurant? I have so many. But if I really have to pick one, it would have to be Nobu 57 in NYC.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? Paramount Bay.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone. Can’t live without it!
