Agent Snapshot: Ron Labadie, Real Estate Associate, The Agency Luxe, Pompano Beach

Ron-Labadie

Ron Labadie is a real estate associate with The Agency Luxe working in Pompano Beach.

What was your first job in the realty industry? My first job was at Exit Team Realty in Coral Springs. They offered an excellent training program to all associates.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I usually like to step outside, get fresh air and take a couple of deep breaths and focus on what needs to get done.

Where did you grow up? I grew up living in Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, Penslavania, Texas and finally ending up in Boca Raton. My father was a human resource director for a chemical company that relocated our family a lot. I feel very fortunate to have lived in so many great places.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I have always wanted to own my own business. I like the fact that what you put into it, you get out of it.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be? It would probably be Mark Zuckerberg. It’s really amazing how he started Facebook and made it into what it is today at such a early age. A real pioneer in social media.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? I really like the beach. It’s a great way to unwind and clear your mind by looking out into the ocean and listening to the waves.

What do you love most about the industry? I really like the challenge of getting new clients. Everyone knows a Realtor in South Florida; it’s that first impression that makes the difference.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I would say I’m not the pushy type. I am very personal and down to earth. I think that’s what clients are drawn to.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Managing to get everything done in a day. To be a successful Realtor you need to be there 24/7 for your clients.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? You should network everywhere you go. Always have a card and a smile on you.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Saving money and buying my first home at age 20. It felt really good to own something at an early age. My parents taught me well.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The book “Many Minds, Many Masters” by Brian L. Weiss. It has to do with the afterlife – very interesting.

What is your favorite restaurant? Hands down Cafe Maxx. Best food in south Florida!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? I really like the Fountain Blue. I had the chance to visit the hotel before the remodel to see what an iconic place it was.

What kind of car do you drive? A 2013 Honda Accord.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone and iCloud to back everything up.

What is your favorite city after Miami? Chicago, first time visiting last year. So much to do and see. The place is clean, people are genuine and the food is cutting edge.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Don’t get intimidated by the amount of competition out there.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? RealEstate.com.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?  Not on Twitter yet…Soon.
