Melanie Yeary is a real estate agent with Balistreri Realty working in Lighthouse Point.

What was your first job in the realty industry? Realtor.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Spend time with family.

Where did you grow up? Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Growing up, what did you want to be? A leader.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be? Oprah Winfrey. I have alot of respect for her and her accomplishments in life.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Local restaurants in Pompano Beach. Houston’s, Sunset Catch, Cafe Maxx.

What do you love most about the industry? Helping people make one of the biggest decisions in their lifetime.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I set myself apart because of the customer service I provide to all of my clients. I make sure that I exceed their customer service expectations and answer all of the questions. I am always with my phone and follow up with any and all questions or problems that may arise.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Right now we have a shortage of listings and therefore it is hard to get a buyer’s offer accepted. I will go above and beyond in order to get my clients’ offers accepted in a multiple offer scenario.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I have a variety of techniques to meet new clients, but most of my clients are referrals from past clients.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? I’ve recently had the opportunity to work with some celebrities, showing fabulous homes in Boca Raton. I was also the top agent in my office in 2014 and was awarded Balistreri’s Top Producer’s Award.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? American Sniper. Loved it!

What is your favorite restaurant? Ceviche 105 in downtown Miami. Simply amazing!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? I love some of the loft condo buildings in Miami, especially Parc Lofts.

What kind of car do you drive? Porsche turbo convertible.

Smartphone or paper? I love electronic gadgets, so smartphone is my choice.

What is your favorite city after Miami? I really like Chicago. The people are nice and the city is so clean. I love the lake, too.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Set yourself apart from others and give your clients the best customer experience possible.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? I like Open Home Pro to register guests on my iPad at my open house events.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I like social media, but I don’t have alot of time for it. I am not as active on Twitter as I should be.
