Wendy Cohen is a luxury estate agent with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty working in Sunny Isles Beach.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I started with EWM when the market crashed in 2009.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Walk on the beach or sit on my balcony and enjoy the beautiful ocean view and our warm tropical weather.

Where did you grow up?  Various states, including New York, New Jersey, California, Nevada, Florida and Mexico City, Mexico. My father liked to travel and change our residence every year. It taught me to adapt to all circumstances and made it comfortable for me to meet and work with a diverse group of people. It is a big part of what I enjoy about working in real estate, I get to meet interesting new people all of the time. I also was able to learn Spanish fluently, for which I am grateful.

Growing up, what did you want to be? A specialist in international business and finance, and multi-lingual.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Golda Meir, she was a strong and powerful woman yet had a big heart.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? On the beach.

What do you love most about the industry? Working with a diversified clientele, and that every day is a different experience. Customer appreciation and their feedback is greatly appreciated. It is very rewarding to assist buyers and sellers with the purchase or sale of their properties and have such a great group of satisfied customers

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am very dedicated and work 24/7 on behalf of my customers. I take my work very seriously and strive to give the best possible service.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? In certain cases, coming to a meeting of the minds, but it is very rewarding when this is achieved

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Since almost every person owns or rents a home or condo, every day presents opportunities to meet buyers and sellers. I also network on the internet through various outlets and get a lot of customer referrals and repeat clients.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Balancing work and my family life.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? My favorite movie of all times is Auntie Mame. It shows whatever life has to offer, whether it be good or bad, you have to make the best of it and Live! Live! Live!

What is your favorite restaurant? Tough questions! I love all kinds of food and adore eating. It is one of my favorite things to do! I just had dinner this weekend at La Veinte Cantina on Brickell; it was delicious.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? Porsche Design Tower definitely makes a statement. It is truly unique and impressive.

What kind of car do you drive? Audi A6. It is easy to handle and my customers are comfortable.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Miami? New York City. I will always think of it as home. The majority of my family still lives there.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Love what you do and do it ethically.
