Agent Snapshot: Alexandra DuPont, Vice President, BestBuyFloridaHome, Palm Beach

Alexandra-Dupont-Property-Expert-Best-Buy-Florida-Home-Miam

Alexandra DuPont is vice president of BestBuyFloridaHome.

What was your first job in the realty industry? My first job was learning from both of my parents’ companies – learning about sales/flips thanks to my father and learning about construction/interior designing thanks to my mom.

Where did you grow up? I was actually born and raised in Canada, and having a Hispanic mother has given me both cultures. After high school, I decided to move to Florida and I am in love with everything Florida living brings!

What is your favorite free-time activity? My favorite free-time activity is anything that has to do with nature (snorkeling, camping, hiking, boating, etc.).

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I’m stressed, I like to go to a quiet beach or head to the gym.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Growing up I always wanted to be a dietitian.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? It would be with Warren Buffett because I feel like no matter how much money he has he is still very down to earth. For me it’s always important to remember where you came from.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place to hang out is in my mother’s kitchen. There is always something crazy going on and the funniest stories with our family members happen there.

What do you love most about the industry? What I love the most about the real estate industry is that everyday is different. It is never a dull routine because I get clients from different countries, which it makes it interesting. Meeting new people and finding them their dream place is a rewarding feeling.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I believe what mostly stands out is that I am fluent in three languages and have moved more than 12 times; that permits me to connect with my clients, since they come from all over.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult part would have to be credibility. I am indeed very young since I am only 20, but I learned from my parents who both have been brokers for more than 12 years and have been the best examples for me to have. I work day by day to improve and show people that I can really do this. Age shouldn’t have an impact; it’s all about the knowledge.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I attended my first real estate investors meeting at the age of 17 and have been going regularly, as well as the functions of other professional groups.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment was to backpack across Europe by myself at 18 years old for six weeks and learning how to survive in hostels.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last good book I read would have to be Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter.

What is your favorite restaurant? This is a tough one…I LOVE food! Mainly, any sushi/bar place will do.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? The Miami Tower.

What kind of car do you drive? I have a white C250 Sport Mercedes.

Smartphone or paper? Paper.

What is your favorite city after Miami? My favorite city in Florida would have to be Fort Lauderdale because of the tourists and lifestyle. Outside of the US, it would be Stockholm, Sweden.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Always be prepared.

What’s your favorite Real Estate iPhone/Android app? The eKEY app, instead of having the actual Supra lock box.
