Cathy Clark is a Realtor Associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Aventura/The Beaches

What was your first job in the realty industry? I began selling real estate in 2000 as a Realtor Associate with Coldwell Banker in Aventura. I am still here and loving it!

Where did you grow up? South Florida resident since 1963. Grew up in Hollywood Florida. Lived in Miami and now currently live in Aventura.

What is your favorite free-time activity? I love to go to the beach, boating, fitness training, theater and of course sports. When I have enough free time to take a vacation, I love to cruise.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I work out at the gym or take a run on Aventura’s beautiful Country Club Drive circle. The beach early mornings give me a sense of peace and tranquility. This is a great way for me to rejuvenate.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I always wanted to have my own business. I didn’t really matter. The fact that you could be independent and create your own lifestyle was very important to me. I managed and owned my first retail store when I was 23 years old. Sales and marketing has always been a part of my life.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would love to have lunch with Zig Ziegler or Tony Robbins. I am a firm believer of coaching and mentoring as part of your conditioning to become a disciplined successful business owner.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? I love to hang out at the beach early mornings and maybe to a run on the beach.

What do you love most about the industry? There are many things I love. The fact that I can give the opportunity to a client to own a piece of the American dream. The negotiating part of the deal is a challenge which I am always up for. South Florida has become an international city over the past years. Meeting people for all other the world and showing them the opportunities here is exhilarating. I LOVE working and living in South Florida.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? My detail on client service is probably the most important factor. I work very closely with my client to service all their needs. Really listening to them is the key.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Life is a challenge everyday. Things become difficult only if you let them. There are always options available.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I meet new clients every day. I make my business plan part of my everyday living. When I go out to lunch or dinner, I always strike up a conversation with the people around me. I’m never lost for words. I find that referrals are a big part of my business. I make it a point to contact at least 3 past clients every week to meet for lunch or coffee just to keep them up to date in the Real Estate market.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? There have been many. I am here today and loving life. Life in general is a great accomplishment. Being really happy and at peace everyday!!

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last book I read was Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life by Dr. Wayne W Dyer. I read this book often.

What is your favorite restaurant? I LOVE Timpano and Capital Grille.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? Speaking of residential properties, I love Aqualina in Sunny Isles Beach.

What kind of car do you drive? I drive a black Mercedes E350 Coupe…love this car

Smartphone or paper? Both

What is your favorite city after Miami? New York City

What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Don’t give up. Be Honest. Work hard. Find a mentor.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Dropbox..this is a must

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I do not tweet
