june-e-savage-one-sothebys-coral-gables

June E. Savage is a Realtor Associate with One Sotheby’s in Coral Gables

What was your first job in the realty industry? I was the training and recruiting coordinator for The Keyes Company under the chairman and Mike Pappas.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Pinecrest! My Father bought the lot for $10,000 and built house; I jumped the fence to attend Pinecrest Elementary.

What is your favorite free-time activity? I am an avid road cyclist. I ride about 90-120 miles a week. Since I was little, I’ve been riding throughout Pinecrest, and even today you can see me riding around –
weather permitting!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I go to the Continuum South Beach and relax in the ocean or pool. South of Fifth is very relaxing, from the beach to South Point Park, where I can be found with my dog or my parrot Ginger, a malouccan cockatoo, hanging around!

Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be an actress. I was finalist for Miss Miami and I auditioned for Scarface as Al Pacino’s sister. I was 16, and though they kept asking me back, I never looked old enough. I was also in original the Miami Ballett Co., and today I choreograph for the community theater Miami Acting Company.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Elizabeth Taylor. Need I say more?!

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Joe’s Take Away! I hate it when it closes for summer!

What do you love most about the industry? The industry? It’s more like our life! Everything is about real estate! Where you live; where you park your car; where you eat; where you vacation.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I have international business experience and use it a lot. Having grown up in South Florida, my father was a GC general contractor. I understand the construction of property, and I can see things that may or may not be easily visible. Growing up here, I know a lot about the neighborhoods, and my collection of contacts is very large.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? It is or can be a difficult job at times, but mostly people are willing to work together. The hardest thing is to get other Realtors to show up on time or call if they are late!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I am always networking and meeting new people. It’s part of the job, and it has to be done everywhere, from the gym, to the grocery store, to the hair salon, to the beach club, to the doctor’s office!

What has been your greatest accomplishment? In the industry, my greatest accomplishment is always new; it’s every deal that clients are satisfied, no matter the size. In life, it would be my son. Everyone compliments me on his manners and business sense. He is a wonderful young man!

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last book was “The Social Animal” by David Brooks.

What is your favorite restaurant? Joe’s Take away.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? Viscaya.

What kind of car do you drive? I drive a BMW convertible.

Smartphone or paper? Both, but I prefer smartphone, of course.

What is your favorite city after Miami? New York in the U.S.; Mallorca, Spain worldwide.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Ask for their business and be confident about it.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? DocuSign.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? The Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump and the Weather Channel.
