Carol Pawley
Realtor Associate
Slesnick & Jochem, LLP
Carol Pawley consistently ranks among the country’s top 1 percent of Realtors, earning her membership in the prestigious Master Brokers Forum. More importantly, she boasts a stellar reputation for guiding buyers and sellers through even the most challenging negotiations, including the integral role she played in a $100 million transaction. But that success didn’t come easily; despite her husband passing away at an early age, Pawley built up an impressive career in real estate. She relies on hard work, tenacity and a close network of friends and loved ones. “I used all of my volunteer experiences and connections through Junior League, Beaux Arts and multiple other organizations to help me become a true professional in the industry,” she recalls.
Pawley credits her parents for introducing her to real estate as a career at a young age. She regularly joined them on weekend outings to visit their various investment projects that included homes, ranches and businesses. Her mother, a Realtor, suggested that she acquire her license, too, so she did in 1980. “Real estate has been in my blood since childhood, so I pursued buying, renovating and selling homes in Coconut Grove with my late husband at that time,” Pawley says. She later decided to join Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell when real estate became her full-time profession in the 1990s and quickly found herself listed among the top 1 percent of agents nationwide.
Today Pawley calls Slesnick & Jochem, LLP home, a boutique brokerage in Coral Gables that she finds allows for more intimate, one-on-one relationships with clients and brokers. “I absolutely love where I work and the people I work with!” she says. Her expertise is luxury single-family homes and condominiums primarily in Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Miami Beach, Pinecrest and South Miami, but her listings cover all of Miami’s magnificent communities and neighborhoods. And while Pawley attributes her success to the people who have supported her, like previous buyers and sellers whose referrals have generated more than 90 percent of her clients, she also believes that her commitment to one specific rule is the key to her accomplishments: “I always answer my phone! That lets my clients know that I value and respect their time, especially for what’s one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make.”
A journalism major at Loyola University, Pawley holds designation as a Certified Residential Specialist and Certified Luxury Home Specialist and possesses Real Estate Owned certification. She is also a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, a designation that assures affluent buyers and sellers of her expert knowledge of high-end properties. In her personal time she is an active volunteer with the Young Patronesses of the Opera, the Feed the Homeless at Chapman Partnership and her church. A cancer survivor, she also mentors cancer patients. Pawley harbors an enduring passion for both her profession and hometown. “I just love Miami and I’m having a great time watching it continuously evolve into a world-class destination. I’m proud to be part of that.”
