Thanks to the leadership of David Koster and Gabriel Markovich, Decorus Realty has skyrocketed from a startup real estate firm to one that sells over a quarter billion dollars’ worth of property each year. With their team of over 160 agents, this pair of veteran Realtors who together possess nearly three decades of experience has helped set the standard for Miami’s booming luxury property market. Their brokerage attracts the most discerning buyers, including clients who purchased two residences totaling $25 million at Oceana in Bal Harbour, and recently a $21 million penthouse at the Ritz-Carlton in Sunny Isles Beach. Their newly established VIDA Development Company, which launched its first project, VIDA at The Point, Waterfront Residences and Marina in Aventura, is already 50 percent sold out.

Koster, who holds a management information systems degree, leverages both his academic background and experience in data security to integrate these enhancements into the firm’s operations.

Markovich credits much of the pair’s success to their extensive involvement in every aspect of their business. “I love being part of the process of taking an idea to plan and then to execution,” he says.

“We recognized a need in the market for a comprehensive service-oriented office and have accomplished this by integrating in-house legal and title firms as well as property management services to best serve our customers.”  He honed his strategic decision-making skills in his previous career in securities and investment services, and Markovich says that his combined career experience has given him the perspective needed to handle challenges that arise in real estate.

Although their professional accolades include honors like membership in the Master Broker’s Forum, a distinction reserved for the top 1 percent of producers in the country, both Koster and Markovich say their families are their greatest achievements. “Balance is critical for life fulfillment,” Koster says, “including knowing how to divide one’s time between work and home.” The duo adds that working collaboratively with one another and the Decorus professionals has resulted in the kind of synergy that has exceeded what even they might have imagined when they started this journey together just four years ago. “It’s like Aristotle said,” Koster explains. “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
