Incoming NAR President Will Be Moe Veissi

Maurice "Moe" Veissi

Miami local Maurice “Moe” Veissi will be the new president of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in 2012.

Veissi, broker-owner of Veissi & Associates Inc., has over 40 years of real estate experience and specializes in land acquisition.

The Miami resident has been on NAR’s board of directors since 1999 and served on the Strategic Investment Reserve Advisory Board for NAR in 2005. He was also the political fundraising chair for the Realtors Political Action Committee in 2008.

His new role at NAR comes 10 years after he served as president of the Florida Association of Realtors, who named him Realtor of the Year in 2003. Veissi has chaired numerous committees for the association over the years.

Active in his community, Veissi has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Camillus House for the Homeless and the Athletic Committee of Columbus High School. He also founded the Silent Angels Charitable Foundation, which lends help to individuals trying to get back on their feet.

“I’m a small cog in a very big wheel,” Veissi told RISMedia about his NAR presidency. “I want to make sure that the things I do over the next 12 months benefit our members and, ultimately, benefit the consumer.”

Veissi and his wife, Matey, also a Realtor, have two sons.
