Practicing law.

Where did you grow up?

Detroit

Growing up, what did you want to be?

Real estate developer.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Relax at the beach with my wife and two kids. Exercise or do anything active, like playing sports or hiking.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Steve Jobs. One of the best innovators of our time, and any advice from him would be the best.

Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?

The Keys, but not Key West.

What do you love most about the industry?

The fast pace of chasing deals, and the rewarding feeling of satisfying your client with a great deal.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Creating a healthy work-life balance when work is on your mind 24/7.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Work your sphere, as these will be your best leads and referrals. Cold leads often end up being a waste of time and energy, while leads from referrals within your sphere are more solid. Keep grinding and be patient, your client database will grow over time.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

Shows: The Morning Show and The Bachelor (#bachelornation)

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?

Cafe Vico (Fort Lauderdale)

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?

Estates at Acqualina

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

Trying to arrange a showing for one of my high-end listings with an anonymous A-list celebrity that was strict and wanted nobody inside the property during the showing except for the Realtors. After two weeks of negotiating the showing, we came to an arrangement where the owners would stay on the patio during the showing. The celebrity buyer showed up, and upon entering the property, the owners were NOT outside as agreed upon, but instead directly in the kitchen. Expecting a huge debacle when the buyer walked in and saw the owners inside the kitchen, it was actually the exact opposite — the celebrity buyer and the owner starting hugging. It turned out the owner was the goddaughter of the celebrity!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I used to be a competitive magician.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

Up north Michigan. Pure relaxation and refreshing, as you are surrounded by freshwater lakes, forests and nature, beaches and sand dunes. It’s a popular vacation spot for midwesterners, but everyone should experience it.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Never focus on the commission; only focus on your client.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?

@raydalio, @nasa, @thebrokeagent, anything related to travel and culture.

What are your social media handles?

@ledermanrealestate (Instagram and YouTube), Lederman Real Estate (Facebook), Jordan Lederman (LinkedIn)
