by John Yellig

Cleveland-based apartment company The NRP Group hired McDowell Housing Partners Vice President Bill Zunamon to establish a Florida affordable-housing portfolio.

In his new position as vice president of development, Zunamon will work with nonprofit organizations, public housing authorities and governmental agencies to identify and execute affordable-housing projects in the state. The hire marks NRP’s first expansion beyond market-rate developments in Florida, according to a press release.

“The demand for affordable housing in Florida is undeniable, and with this new hire, we’re poised to meet this challenge head-on,” said Aaron Pechota, NRP executive vice president of development. “With his leadership and expertise, Bill’s appointment reinforces NRP’s unwavering commitment to expanding access to quality housing options for all Floridians, regardless of socioeconomic status.”

Zunamon is an active member of Florida’s Coalition of Attainable Housing Providers. He received a bachelor’s degree in real estate and entrepreneurship from the University of Wisconsin.

“Amid the state’s surging housing crisis, our commitment to providing affordable housing remains strong, ensuring that every individual and family has a place to call home in these challenging times,” Zunamon said. “It’s not merely a duty but a profound opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of many.”
