What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I owned a chain of teeth-whitening studios in Atlanta, Boston, North Carolina, Dallas, Houston and Chicago.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I remember being 10 years old with a leaf-raking business, I designed programs for churches, mowed lawns in the neighborhood and purchased candy with allowance to sell to my classmates. My brother Jeff always laughed at me for carrying a briefcase to the 6th grade, but I was about business then & I still am, lol.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Beach Therapy! Real estate has afforded me the opportunity to see a ton of real estate & own multiple properties, one of which is in the Dominican Republic. That’s my happy place.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Barack Obama, because he just seems like the smartest, coolest guy ever!

Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?

La Colada Gourmet “THE HOUSE OF CUBAN COFFEE,” hands down the best coffee in Miami.

What do you love most about the industry?

I really have a passion to educating Realtors, investors, sellers and buyers on the financial advantages of owning and investing in Real Estate.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

The most challenging part of my job is managing referral deals, which are the bulk of our business in multiple states with multiple agents.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Keep in touch with all leads and potential leads, most leads will sell or buy, but will they remember you?

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I’m a news junky! I think it may have come from my mother.

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?

Conch of course!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?

The art deco architecture is unlike anywhere else in the world, it’s a bridging of yesterday with the swagger of today & beyond.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

I was touring a home for a potential investment to flip, and weird noises kept getting louder and louder. Needless to say, I didn’t buy that property.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I’m not as serious as people would think, I love being silly with my family & friends.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

Colombia & Dominican Republic, because of their rich & raw history, great beaches, amazing food and amazing people.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Your license is just the beginning, now learn the business.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?

Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Drake and Diddy, Ryan Serhant, Fredrik Eklund.
