Donna Incorvaja Real estate agent

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I ran an English Language School for foreigners in Malta. It was the first English-speaking school on the island.

Where did you grow up?

My parents immigrated to Canada, where I was born, but we moved to Malta when I was 8 years old. When I was 25 years old, I moved to the United States.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

Because I wanted to travel the world, I dreamed of being a flight attendant.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

I like to sing when I am stressed out.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

I have many female role models I look up to, especially the self-made ones. If I had to choose from my list, there will be three top choices. The first one would be Whitney Housten, which I regret not seeing at a live concert. Then, the remarkable Oprah Winfrey, and I am also fascinated by Jennifer Lopez. She is fierce and unstoppable!

Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?

For me, South Florida’s best-kept secret would be the Keys. I love diving there to enjoy the tranquility and breathtaking sunsets.

What do you love most about the industry?

What I love about this business is the constant change and the excitement that comes from that. Every deal has its own story, and it is an honor to watch events unfold with the overall goal of making dreams come true.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

The most challenging aspect has to be handling business with unprofessional agents.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Every agent has a different approach to lead generation, but the most powerful tool I found is to be in touch with past customers. They can feed your business.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I read a lot of self-improvement books and adore watching Hallmark movies. I am reading “Never Split the Difference” by Chris Voss for the second time. In my opinion, it is one of the best books ever written.

What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?

It is tough to choose. I feel that we are spoiled in South Florida because we have all types of cuisines and many excellent restaurants. I particularly love sushi.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?

I absolutely adore Las Olas River House, designed by Steven G.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

Nothing, in particular, comes to my mind.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

People do not usually know I am a professional singer.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

My favorite place to visit is Malta, in the middle of the Mediterranean. Not only because my family is there, but it is one of the most beautiful islands in the world. There is plenty of history and architecture. Every time I go, I come back fully recharged and ready to take on the world.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

It is not a part-time job. Be prepared!

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?

I enjoy following top fellow agents as they inspire and motivate me.
