Agent Snapshot: Irina Nefedova, Real Estate Associate, London Foster Realty

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? I was a model – I traveled the world, worked for famous designers. My favorite part about the modeling industry was doing runaway shows.

Where did you grow up? Minsk in Belarus

Growing up, what did you want to be? I was not really sure who I wanted to be when I was growing up. But life gave me the opportunity to love what I do.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When stressed, I go to the beach, make jewelry (my hobby) and watch silly movies that make me laugh. I also love to sit on my balcony with a glass of Prosecco and talk to my friends.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Freddy Mercury – he was handsome and talented – I loved his performance, his voice and his connection with crowd. I’ve watched “Bohemian Rhapsody” many times.

Where is Miami’s best-kept secret? The Art Deco district, with its colorful buildings, interesting decor elements, intricate details and century-old history.

What do you love most about the industry? I love to make my clients happy. I love the fact that I can help make their dreams come true – it’s the best feeling ever.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? It’s a bit difficult to be available 24/7 for my clients; sometimes I need a break. But overall, I try to be available anytime my clients need me.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Network, network, network. There’s simply no getting around it: If you’re in real estate, you have to network like crazy.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? House Hunters, Tiny House, Big Living, Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Shark Tank, Tiger King.

What’s your favorite meal in Miami? The entire menu at Toni’s Sushi Bar in Miami Beach.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? Overall, I love all the Art Deco buildings in Miami. One of my favorite ones is the Fontainebleau Hotel designed by Morris Lapidus.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? I bumped my forehead on the glass door of a balcony during a showing, thinking the balcony door was open.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? Sometimes I intimidate people because of my look and height (I am 5’11” and sometimes 6’1” in heels), but when they start communicating with me, they’re surprised that my look doesn’t match with my sweet personality.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why? My favorite vacation spot is my city where I grew up, Minsk in Belarus.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Don’t give up and stand out from the competition.
