What was your first job in the realty industry? I started my real estate business in 2014 with Coldwell Banker Miami Beach. My first listing was a $10 million waterfront home on North Bay Road that I co-listed with The Jills and we sold representing buyer and seller.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in the Chicago suburbs.
Growing up, what did you want to be? I grew up training competitively in dance and dedicated 30+ hours a week training from the time I was 7 years old. I had the blessing of understanding how hard work gets me to my goals and the feeling of passion from a very young age. I always knew that when I grew up I wanted to find a business that I was just as passionate about and that allowed me to work hard and see results. I have been able to recreate this with my real estate business.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I’m stressed out I work out or take a few minutes to meditate so that I can get right back to an efficient and positive state.
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Ivanka Trump or Oprah Winfrey! I just love how they have used their power to be influential and inspire others.
Where is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place to hang out is on the water boating. Experiencing Miami by water is what Miami living is all about for me! My husband and I love just getting on the boat and going to lunch or dinner to a waterfront restaurant like Seaspice or Smith & Wollensky.
What do you love most about the industry? I love that I get to spend my day working alongside top producing agents and my clients which are some of the most influential individuals in the world. I get to negotiate, create and work with the top of the top, which means every day I am challenged to learn and grow. I love the nonstop action of real estate and the art of putting deals together.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I have been able to distinguish myself from other agents through my strong social media presence. I have closed almost 30% of my deals this year just from Instagram and receive daily inquiries on my listings from my marketing. My sellers are always surprised at how much activity we get just from my social media marketing. In addition, I make myself always available for my clients and religiously follow up.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult aspect of my job is not being able to control the market.
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I am constantly running into people in my day-to-day routine. In the mornings, I am in Sunset Harbour at a workout class and grabbing a juice, then I head to my office on Lincoln Road, and at the end of the day I’m walking in my neighborhood – South of Fifth. I have found the best way to meet new clients is still face to face through my personal network and the best way to keep in constant contact with people is through my social media.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment has been joining The Jills Team. One of my favorite parts of joining the team has been our family meetings where we discuss what buyers we are working with and what properties we have on/off market — we put so many deals together just sitting down at a table together. We also discuss our peaks/pits that happened throughout the week so that we can grow and learn from each other’s experiences. My team members are absolutely one of my most powerful tools that I am very grateful for.
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? My all time favorite book is “Ask and It’s Given.” I’m not really into TV, but I do love the show “Billions”! If it’s a documentary on a success story or history, I can get into it too!
What is your favorite restaurant? Milo’s and Seaspice
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? Four Seasons Surfside because it’s old world elegance meets new.
What kind of car do you drive? White/Black Range Rover Sport
Smartphone or paper? I need both in my life!
What is your favorite city after Miami? Chicago, my hometown.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Work for or with a top producer and work harder than everyone else!
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? iCal, I live by it and use it to effectively time block my day.
