by Lauren Clohessy

The Miami Association of Realtors recently released its April 2018 list of international online searches for Miami homes.

For the fifth consecutive month, Colombia was No. 1 with 12.2 percent of international searches. Two Colombian cities made the top 10 international city web searches: Bogotá ranked at No. 1 once again, while Antioquia ranked at No. 8.

In terms of the number of international purchases in South Florida, Colombia accounted for 9 percent in April 2018. A 2017 report tied Colombia and Canada for international purchases. For searches, Canada was No. 3 with 3.1 percent of international online searches.

The Miami Association of Realtors saw a new country on the list in April. Pakistan, the fifth-most populated country in the world, made the Miami Realtors’ list for the first time at No. 4, with 6 percent of its international searches. According to the Miami Association of Realtors, 72 percent of Pakistan web searches came from Karachi, which was No. 2 on the international cities list.

“Miami has name recognition throughout the world and we see it every month in the amount of international consumers interested in Miami real estate,” said 2018 Miami Association of Realtors chairman George C. Jalil.
