This Week in Miami Real Estate: New local MLS exec, peeks at hot new developments and more

by Kelly McCabe

My Florida Regional MLS recently named Shayne Fairley as its new chief operating officer. He’s been with the organization for 12 years, starting as a support technician and going on to manage various efforts before taking on his most recent role, vice president of customer relations.

In other recent Miami news:

  • The Four Seasons Private Residences Fort Lauderdale recently hit a sales milestone, surpassing $100 million in sales in the first quarter of 2018 and a record high of $2,000 per square foot. Douglas Elliman is handling the sales for the building, which is from developer Fort Partners.
  • Curbed recently gave us sneak peeks at model residences of hot new developments going up in the area: Giralda Place in Coral Gables and Rise in Brickell City Centre. The model unit for Giralda Place spans 1,783 square feet and has 10-foot glass doors to the pool deck, porcelain and light-washed wood flooring and walk-in closets. Rise’s interiors feature a kitchen with Italian features, sleek white cabinets, Bosch appliances and an under-counter wine storage system. The long bathroom includes double sinks and a standing spa shower.
  • Fort Lauderdale has new leaders that say they will slow the city’s rapid redevelopment to focus on easing the woes that accompanied its building boom, such as burdened sewers and roads, according to Bisnow. The new mayor and two new commissioners will now only give proposed developments a public hearing if the commission calls for one.
