What was your first job in the realty industry? We started doing small sales, rentals and open houses from other agents.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Go to the movies or drink a good glass of wine and relax.
Where did you grow up? Caracas, Venezuela.
Growing up, what did you want to be? An attorney.
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? John Kennedy. I grew up learning a lot about his career and personal life. He was a very smart person.
Where is your favorite place to hang out? Any coffee shop. I love to enjoy a great cafecito with my friends and the other customers!
What do you love most about the industry? I love my job. It’s very complex, and I learn more and more everyday. It’s incredible, and I enjoy my international clients.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am very sharp with my appointments. I am always on time, and when I’m selling a property, I am buying my customer, which is why they’re customers for life.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? When I feel like people don’t trust me, or when I’m working with other Realtors and they aren’t truthful during the deal.
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I’ve been working for many years and I work by referral. Most of my customers are friends or will become friends.
What has been you greatest accomplishment? When a child of one of my customers said to his parents, “Listen to Barbara!”
What is your favorite restaurant? I love French restaurants!
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston? Icon.
What kind of car do you drive? Cadillac SUV.

What is your favorite city after Miami? Boca Raton.
What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Work hard. This is a full-time job and be very unconditional.
