Judy Jordan is a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty working in Aventura.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
Coldwell Banker

Yoga, read, play with my dog and takes walk on the beach

Where did you grow up?
Miami Beach, FL

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I love life…so…I wanted to be everything – and I was! I was a teacher for 10 years, then a tutor and later a biofeedback therapist (pain management). Went back to school to get my Masters in Psychology, then became a Realtor because my father – who passed away over 30 years ago – always told me that I would be a fantastic Realtor and that I could sell anything! And with a background in psychology, I have continued with selling homes for over 12 years now!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Rei Mesa, the President of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty. Rei is a wealth of information and truly a ‘leader’ in our industry. I would love to ‘pick his brain’ for the changing market we now have in Miami!

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
The Beach, for all its senses – taste, touch, smell, feel, etc – listening to the waves rolling in, the birds tweeting and the wind blowing against my face; its’s next to heaven. There’s nothing better than being close to nature!

What do you love most about the industry?
Meeting all kinds of people, learning all different languages and seeing the smile on my clients’ faces when they move into their home after closing!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
Because I put emotion into my sales. I feel what the others are feeling. I don’t just ‘sell.’ I sell and bring happiness, calmness and security to my customers.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
When financing falls through at the very end of the time period. ‘That call’ to my customer is the MOST difficult issue.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
Any networking activity – chambers, openings, restaurants. I am a talker, so I meet people everywhere.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
In my personal life: Being married and having the most wonderful 36 years of my life, along with having the 3 most amazing kids! One is a criminal attorney, the other is a doctor doing his residency and the last is doing a fellowship for speech pathology. One is married to an amazing gal with a 1 yr old girl. The other 2 will be married this Dec. and March of 2015.

In my professional life: Having had the experience of many different careers: teacher, tutor, biofeedback therapist, realtor, gift basket business and going for my Masters in Psychology – not to mention all the fundraising I did with Children’s Cancer Caring Center.
