Tomi Rose

Tomi Rose is a senior vice president at Opulence International Realty working in Miami.

What was your first job in the realty industry: I was a Realtor on Mayi De La Vega’s (current owner of One Sotheby’s) team at Shelton & Associates.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana.

What is your favorite free-time activity? Painting.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I relax at home, spending time with my son and fiancee – they are my sanity and both of them have amazing personalities that make any situation stress free.

Growing up, what did you want to be? An actress and dancer on FAME.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Oprah Winfrey, I love her success story and her giving heart. She is truly an inspiration.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? The Juice Spot.

What do you love most about the industry? I love meeting new people who allow me to sale or find their perfect get-a-way or very own home sweet home.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I’m a niche sports and entertainment realtor who, nine times out of 10, shows up with a famous client.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Making sure Realtors don’t leak my clients identities to the press when viewing their property listings.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I’m finally at the stage in my career where clients find me.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Making history as the first African American realtor to sell over $25 Million in residential real estate in one fiscal year in 2012 and in 2014, as well as being the first African American realtor to list a $10 Million dollar property in South Beach, Dade-County and South Florida.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? My book, “Why Shouldn’t Single Mother’s Have It All?” By: Tomi Rose.

What is your favorite restaurant? Prime 112

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? The Apogee

What kind of car do you drive? 2014 Range Rover

Smartphone or paper? Both.

What is your favorite city after Miami? Los Angeles. I used to live there.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Coming in the business with contacts are great but prepare to work hard to convince your contacts your worthy of their real estate business.
