Rod Reiter is a broker associate with Grand Floridian Estate Realty in Boca Raton.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I started right away as a Realtor at Grand Floridian Estate Realty more than three years ago.

Where did you grow up? I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, grew up in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles and completed my junior and senior year of high school in Boca Raton.

What is your favorite free-time activity? I play guitar, bass and drums, and have a full recording studio at home.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Play tennis and aim for my tennis partner.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be a pilot, and still intend on getting my license.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Bill Clinton, to see if some of that charm will rub off on me.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Just at home with friends.

What do you love most about the industry? I get to meet new people from all over the world every single day.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I truly strive to be the absolute best agent out there. I aim to provide my customers with such a high level of service that they cannot possibly fathom working with any other agent again.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The many moving parts in a transaction means that I always need to be ready for the other shoe to drop, no matter how smooth things seem to be going.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Anywhere my current clients happen to be.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Yet to come.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I thought Life of Pi was the best movie I saw last year. The book is really good too.

What is your favorite restaurant? I like variety, so it’s hard to pick one favorite.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? There is a building on Lincoln Road I really like.

What kind of car do you drive? A red sedan.

Smartphone or paper? Really? This is still a question in the 21st century?

What is your favorite city after Miami? Prague, Czech Republic.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? This is not a part-time job.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Karl’s Mortgage Calculator.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I’m just getting started on Twitter, but Hyperlocal is most interesting to me.
