marie-charlotte-mahul

Marie-Charlotte Mahul is a Realtor with Majestic Properties in Miami Beach.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
Sales associate for Majestic Properties.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up on a boat all around South America until the age of six. Then my parents and I settled back in Paris, France, where we come from.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
I like to read at home or dine around and drink good wines with people I love.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I practice a lot of yoga. I also like to play tennis and golf.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a psychologist, but I soon realized I wouldn’t be able to stay quiet in an office. I need to meet people, to sell!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be?
I would have lunch with Michael Jackson. His career was exceptional. He is a unique character.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
Soho House, a club I belong to on the beach.

What do you love most about the industry?
I love to meet new people all the time. I like that the market is always in motion. It is a fast-paced job.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I am professional. I am always on time. I am discreet and I know how to be aggressive when it comes to negotiating for my clients.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Having to deal with people who are not on time and who don’t seem to think that picking up the phone or answering emails are two primordial aspects of being an agent.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
I always check out new restaurants. I love to taste new flavors, and it is a good way to socialize.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
I hope one day I will answer you: my kids.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
Great book: “Yes, Chef” from Marcus Samuelsson. It is an autobiography of this chef who has accomplished so much but stays so humble.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Tough one…on the beach I would say Nobu and Makoto for Japanese, Hakkasan for Chinese, Soho Beach House for Italian (best pizza) and Mylos for incredibly fresh fish.

What is your favorite building in Miami?
I love all the Art Deco buildings around South Beach. To me, they truly represent Miami’s soul. On the modern side, I like the Apogee.

What kind of car do you drive?
I stayed on my Parisian standard sticking to my Mini Cooper, but I think it is time to change now. My next one will be an SUV more adapted to American roads.

Smartphone, or paper?
Paper. I always carry my leather agenda everywhere!

What is your favorite city after Miami?
Paris, of course.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Never give up! Competition is tough, but hold on and do your best!

What is your favorite iPhone/Android app?
Supra, because it is needed.
