South Florida Increases Signed Contracts

Homebuyers in South Florida have signed more contracts in May this year than they did in June, an indication that momentum of the spring buying season is carrying well into summer, according to the Miami Herald.


June pending sales reached 3,650 in Miami-Dade, up 4 percent from 3,508 in May, according to data released Thursday by the Miami Association of Realtors. Pending sales in Broward rose from 3,275 in May to 3,381.

Compared to June 2010, pending sales are up 33 percent in Miami-Dade and 24.4 percent in Broward, according to the Miami Herald.

The total number of pending home sales, which includes contracts signed before June, stands at 12,014 in Miami-Dade and 8,413 in Broward, both up from last year’s totals.
