At age 20, Elena Bluntzer chose to pursue a career in international private banking. After several years and despite loving the field, she noticed that the bank customers were coming to Miami mostly to buy and sell real estate and wondered if the dynamic world of real estate brokerage was a better fit for her skills and proficiency in multiple languages. “With the encouragement of friends and colleagues, I got my real estate license, invested in a business coach and went in full force,” she says. “I never looked back and am happy that I started so young.”
Now, after 37 years as a full-time real estate broker, Bluntzer leads the Bluntzer Group at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty and works with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, CEOs, entrepreneurs and celebrities in the Fisher Island and Miami high-end markets.
Bluntzer learned the complex Fisher Island market by spending many hours previewing the condos, serving on membership committees, attending events held during high season and getting to know neighbors and clients. She says the key was immersing herself in all that is Fisher Island, including buying her own condos there and an Equity membership. She picked up tennis and competes on the USTA Fisher Island tennis team.
Bluntzer says a common theme in her clients’ recommendation letters is that they feel well represented. “From my years in private banking, I learned to strive to go above and beyond my clients’ expectations, whether it’s in answering questions, referring service providers, giving professional advice or simply guiding them to arrive at their real estate goals,” she says. “There is no substitute for focused attention to detail, providing the highest level of customer service and counting on the best executive assistant and team members to achieve those goals.”
Bluntzer serves on the advisory board and fund development committee of Casa Familia, a charitable organization focused on developing, building and maintaining the only assisted living community in Florida for adult developmentally disabled persons, a cause near and dear to her heart.
