Anyone who sells $63 million in real estate in one week is an undeniable phenomenon. Audrey Ross is that person, having set the still unbroken EWM Realty International record in the early 2000s. While this giant among Realtors closely guards the confidentiality of her clients, including the celebrities, business tycoons, athletes and foreign diplomats she counts among friends, her reputation nevertheless speaks for itself. And while modesty precludes her from specifying her most unique contribution to the industry – “That would be for others to say” – her incomparable expertise in the city’s luxury home market has rightfully earned her the moniker “Miami’s Woman at the Top.”

Ross’s path to real estate was somewhat untraditional. She studied English and microbiology at the University of South Carolina before earning a Master’s degree in early childhood education at Florida Atlantic University. She then completed doctoral studies in education at the University of Miami. Her decision to exit her career in education came as a result of marriage to a newly retired businessman.  However, Ross did not intend to place her skills on the shelf, but rather to leverage them in a new way. “I didn’t want to be a housewife who only shopped and played tennis, so my husband suggested I earn my Realtor’s license like some of my friends. He thought I might like it as a hobby!” she laughs. What could have simply been a hobby quickly became Ross’s passion and one that has established her among the world’s preeminent real estate professionals.

In fact, her numerous accolades since launching her team in 1984 include honor as EWM Realty International’s top producer for six consecutive years (“until my number was retired”), distinction as the Number 12 producer in the U.S. as per the Wall Street Journal’s ranking of all U.S. realtors, membership in LuxuryRealEstate.com’s™ Billion Dollar Club, and four-time receipt of the Best American Estate Agent award from Mercedes-Benz UK and International Homes. This year LuxuryRealEstate.com™ will also recognize her with its Lifetime Achievement Award at its upcoming national meeting in Beverly Hills, California. “My expertise is matching the right people to the right property. Like my colleagues in the industry, my approach is straightforward and effective: identify the need and persist until you devise the best solution,” she says. And while Ross understands first-hand the challenges of helping clients find a property that meets their needs and ensuring their greatest return on investment within as few list-to-sale days as possible, no task is ever too daunting. “I draw inspiration from being able to close the deal so that people walk away happy.”

As a woman who can succeed in any market, Ross has performed well for her clients during the industry’s ups and downs over her career, delivering impressive results. She holds membership in the National Association of Realtors, LuxuryRealEstate.com, Luxury Home Marketing Institute and FIABCI – the International Real Estate Federation. In addition, she actively supports charitable organizations like the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind. The veteran agent gratefully acknowledges her family and friends who continue to motivate and to encourage her even 34 years after she first became a Realtor, which is why she never stops striving to do her best. “Making people’s dreams come true means the world to me because mine are fulfilled each day that I’m able to make a difference, both in this industry and in the Magic City, which will always be my home.”
