Worldwide Properties merges with ONE Sotheby’s

ONE Sotheby’s International Realty has announced the acquisition of South Beach real estate firm Worldwide Properties.

This marks the firm’s fourth merger in the last six months.

Led by partners J. Eddy Martinez and Roland Ortiz, Worldwide Properties will merge into the daily operations of ONE Sotheby’s.

“I am passionate about real estate in Miami Beach and at this point, we believe we can only grow by expanding our impact to reach a global buyer,” said Martinez in a press release.

Based in South Beach, Worldwide Properties brings an $80 million portfolio of properties with an additional $26 million in pending sales to Sotheby’s.

“We have been in conversations with Eddy and Roland for a long time, and our negotiations took shape right before the disruption created by COVID-19,” said ONE Sotheby’s President Daniel de la Vega in the press release.  “Now more than ever, we believe their expertise, strong credibility and connections in the market will strengthen our collective success in Miami and beyond.”

The merger will bring onboard all Worldwide Properties more than 30 agents, now operating under the team name Worldwide Group, as ONE Sotheby’s continues its expansion along Florida’s East Coast.

Metropica announces new director

Mihaela Coprean has been named director of business development for Metropica, one of the largest mixed-use communities in the country.

Coprean will manage promotion and sales for the 65-acre, $1.5 billion-dollar, pedestrian-friendly master-planned community under construction in Sunrise, Florida.

“Mihaela is a tremendous leader with a keen grasp of the South Florida real estate market and its development community, specifically,” said Metropica Development CEO Joseph Kavana in a press release.  “Her experience in sales and marketing make her extremely qualified to oversee the growth of our project, and I am confident that she will be a key component of our success.”

The Romanian-born Coprean previously worked for ONE Sotheby’s International Realty and has been a part of other South Florida developments such as Onyx on the Bay and NINE @ Mary Brickell Village.

“To be part of the energy and excitement of Metropica is what I live for,” said Coprean in the press release.  “Metropica’s visionary plan affords its residents the best of all worlds — all the amenities of luxury condominium living, coupled with open spaces and access to nature.  After all, Metropica is re-defining luxury in the western corridor of Greater Ft. Lauderdale.”

The mixed-use development project recently opened its first tower, the 28-story, 263-unit ONE Metropica Residences designed by Chad Oppenhein and London-based interior designer YOO Design Group.  To date, 75% of the units have been purchased by an array of buyers spanning the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asian. Remaining units are priced starting in the $400s
