It has been announced that veteran real estate executive Gustavo “Gus” Rubio has joined ONE Sotheby’s International Realty as chief operating officer.

In his new role, Rubio will focus on expanding ONE Sotheby’s International Realty’s presence, while enhancing the firm’s growing operations and strengthening its leadership position as it continues to increase its market share throughout South Florida.

Rubio Brings 25 Years of Experience to Sotheby’s International Realty

Fluent in English and Spanish, and proficient in Portuguese, Rubio brings more than 25 years of national and international experience having led global services for some of the world’s largest real estate brands. Having lived abroad throughout his career in Brazil, China, Puerto Rico and Europe, Rubio possesses a deep understanding of the global audience. He is highly experienced in growing companies within existing markets, as well as developing new sales and marketing strategies to propel brands on a worldwide platform.

Prior to joining ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, Rubio was executive vice president for Realogy’s Global Services Division, where he was responsible for the development of all six company real estate brands (Sotheby’s International Realty, Better Homes & Gardens, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Coldwell Banker Commercial and ERA) to international markets. He was instrumental in expanding the Sotheby’s International Realty brand in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Rubio has also held several executive management positions, including with Coldwell Banker, serving as senior vice president for the Southeast Florida region, as well as senior positions with AOL Latin America, StarMedia throughout the U.S. and Latin America, and United Airlines for 15 years, where he oversaw operations, sales and marketing for China and the Caribbean, and sales for South Florida. Rubio earned a Master’s degree and Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Columbus University.
