Hard work. Work ethics. Have the customers be No. 1. Service their needs, be good to them, and it will pay off tenfold. Be professional. Don’t ever compromise your work ethic, and always put the customer ahead of everything. My phone is always on. I answer my calls. I try to service the account and that customer, and do it in an excellent manner.

The business practice that brings a Realtor the most success, in my case, is being different and smart. Commitment and dedication are easy to accomplish if you love the business, but success takes more than that; it takes vision.

The key to becoming a successful Realtor is focusing on serving your clients. Your client should receive immediate gratification of his or her needs. Competition in the real estate business is fierce; any delay in response time can result in a lost client. The client should be dazzled by how available, persistent, honest, ethical and service oriented the Realtor is. Having a well-rounded campaign, inclusive of aggressive networking and powerful marketing, is also of the essence.

I find that excellent communication skills are the key to success for any Realtor. Both buyers and sellers have certain expectations and preferred communication styles. It’s up to the Realtor to learn, meet and exceed those expectations. Doing so will build and maintain a trust-based relationship necessary to any successful business.
