David Koster and Gabriel Markovich
Decorus Realty/Decorus Group
David Koster and Gabriel Markovich create a high-touch real estate experience that is as much about personalizing every client relationship as it is ensuring the integrity of each transaction. Honesty and integrity create the cornerstone of their business philosophy. These partners understand the importance of reputation in this industry, and in 2014, earning clients’ confidence merited the two nearly $250 million in sales.
Lifelong friends, Koster and Markovich previously enjoyed independent success before merging their backgrounds in real estate, management information systems and finance to found Decorus Realty in 2011. Koster launched the online marketplace Penthouselife.com for Penthouses around the world in 2009 and was director of sales for Trump Hollywood; Markovich sold and managed 15 condominium developments across Florida for the Related Group and founded Solid Development Group specializing in the investment of commercial properties.
Today, their collaboration has spurred a brokerage firm with more than 160 agents who specialize in residential, commercial and new development properties. While these brokers count eight-figure sales like a $20 million condominium at Bal Harbour’s St. Regis among their most notable transactions, Markovich believes the pair’s greatest achievement is that they continue to buy and sell for the same individuals. “The best compliment is when a sale closes and my client looks at me and says, ‘We should be friends,’” he says, adding that clients appreciate their team’s hard work and in-depth market knowledge.
Although their business launched only four years ago, Koster and Markovich have made certain it offers a full suite of services. These include independent in-house legal services, Wells Fargo Private Mortgage Banking, as well as Interiors by Steven G. They have also been honored with membership in the Master Broker’s Forum, a distinction reserved for the top 1 percent of producers in the country.
Koster and Markovich are currently embarking on a new initiative that will further showcase their expertise in all aspects of the industry: developing and selling a collection of luxury, waterfront townhomes called VIDA at the Point in Aventura, Florida. Each residence will boast a minimum of 3,200 square feet, optional yacht slips and access to amenities like a full-service spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, swimming pools and tennis courts.
But while Decorus Realty is no stranger to exclusive listings like VIDA at the Point, its owners emphasize that they dedicate the same attention to all customers regardless of their budget, because people really do come first. Just like the seller who ultimately listed his penthouse with the partners because, as Koster explains, “He said my proposal was as good as his own proposal that had landed him a multimillion dollar account.” No detail is too minor and no request is too small when it comes to these partners remaining true to their personal and professional ethics.
