Doug Smith, a former senior vice president of mortgage lending at CrossCountry Mortgage, has returned to Chicago-based Rate Inc., where he will hold the same title.  

Smith will continue to do business in both the Chicagoland and South Florida markets. 

A 31-year veteran of the mortgage business, Smith worked at Rate for over 13 years until 2021, when he became a senior loan consultant at loanDepot before moving to Cleveland-based CrossCountry in 2022.  

Smith said he is “looking forward to better serving my referral partners and their clients with our advanced technology and experienced team for a seamless customer experience.”
