Who’s moving to Miami?

The first half of 2025 brought a wave of moving activity across the nation. A new report from U-Haul identified the most common states of origin for do-it-yourself movers who relocated to Miami.  

Topping the list were Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee and New York,followed by South Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania.  

U-Haul identified Atlanta; Houston; New York; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Dallas as the top cities of origin for new Miamians. 

The main feeders within Florida were Orlando, Tampa, Port St. Lucie, Jacksonville and Fort Myers.
