Managing Broker of the Year: Anthony Askowitz, RE/MAX Advance Realty

by Kerrie Kennedy

As the owner, president, and managing broker of RE/MAX Advance Realty, Anthony Askowitz directs the activities of approximately 170 real estate agents in the company’s Kendall and South Miami offices.

Under his leadership RMA agents consistently outsell their competitors from the leading (and larger) Miami office, often by wide margins. RMA is regularly included in The Real Deal South Florida’s annual ranking of the Top 10 Residential Brokerages in Miami-Dade County.

Askowitz attributes this extraordinary efficiency to the company’s policy of recruiting and retaining seasoned top producers, as well as its focus on professional development/education and teamwork. He also credits the RE/MAX global brand and an outstanding professional staff.

This is the third year in a row Miami Agent readers have named Askowitz “Managing Broker of the Year.” Named Top Residential Real Estate Broker in 2017 by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Askowitz’s success has generated frequent speaking invitations to RE/MAX network events around the nation, where he shares his knowledge and techniques.

But management success is only one area in which Askowitz distinguishes himself from his fellow Miami brokers. The Miami native is also an active an productive agent, consistently selling more than 100 homes each year and maintaining his membership in RE/MAX’s “Diamond Club,” which recognizes associates whose paid annual commissions total more than $1 million.

Askowitz’s position as a “non-competing selling broker” gives him a genuine understanding of the lives and challenges of working agents, and of the front lines of Miami’s dynamic real estate market. Among Miami’s leading offices, Askowitz is the only broker who is also an active sales associate.

Since 2016, Askowitz has been a regular contributor to Inman News, where his monthly “Agent/Broker Perspective” column tackles both sides of hypothetical real estate situations, highlighting his expertise as both a working agent and managing broker.
