Growing up in Cleveland, Laurel Anne McGarel was fascinated with real estate watching her mother work for large apartment management companies. Working as CFO for a company that had the fastest growing real estate company in Northeast Ohio, McGarel moved into international commercial real estate and earned her CPA license. She eventually became licensed in Florida, achieving the top 1% of sales in her company within her first year.

In the industry for 23 years, McGarel celebrated her biggest month of sales in August 2023 with over $8 million in sales closed. “Likability is the secret ingredient that sets top producers apart from the rest in any field,” she explains. “You can be professional, you can be the smartest person in the room, you can even be the hardest working, but if you do not master a way of being likable, people will not want to work with you.”

Featured in Naples Real Producers magazine in July, McGarel was listed in the top 1.5% of real estate professionals in the U.S. by Real Trends in 2022. MVP Realty awarded her Ambassador of the Year in 2022 and the Blue Diamond Award for reaching the top 1% of sales in the company for 2021-22. She also received the Titanium Award from the Women’s Council of Realtors in Naples on the Gulf in 2022 and was named in Naples Real Producers in 2021-23. In 2024, she has already been awarded the Rising Star Award from the Women’s Council of Realtors in Naples on the Gulf. She gives back to her community as a member of MVP Realty’s EDGE program and MVP Cares program.

McGarel recently took up golf. “I wanted to be away from the computer and get fresh air,” she admits. “It’s a wonderful activity to do with my husband and a great way to take out clients.”
