Long before his career as a loan officer, Robert Curtis was preparing for his future career with Wintrust Mortgage—he first began to polish his customer service abilities as a fine-dining waiter. He learned during his days in the service industry that exceptional service from application to closing allows him to establish a true partnership with clients throughout what might otherwise be an anxiety-ridden process.
In return, Curtis says his clients treat him with the same respect, appreciation and collaboration. “That kind of reciprocity is the key to building and maintaining client relationships, not just in the here and now but for a lifetime,” he says.
Curtis has a consultative approach to the real estate industry, where he’s able to assist clients in overcoming their fears and concerns about the process. His full range of knowledge allows him to delve into consultative conversations, to look at both short-term and long-term planning with all his clients, from first-time buyers to investors.
“The goal is to determine what problems may surface before they do and take a proactive approach rather than a reactive one to assist them with a solution,” Curtis says. “There are many solutions. The key is finding one that meets the client’s objectives.”
