Brian Franks, Origination Manager

Guaranteed Rate Affinity

With over 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Brian Franks still loves the real estate industry. “What better field can one be in to help people achieve a lifelong dream of homeownership and build wealth, while also helping real estate partners and mortgage professionals exceed their goals?” he asks. Helping others is the cornerstone of why Franks does what he does. “Real Estate brings so many people happiness,” he remarks, “and I am proud to be a part of this great community.”

During Thanksgiving week of last year, Franks was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal and liver cancer. His treatments and surgeries will be taking place over most of this year. Yet the diagnosis has not slowed him down: He and his team have closed more transactions year to date compared to 2022, and he says they are just getting stronger. He has been sharing his journey on social media with a message of positivity, hope and love.

New to Franks’ arsenal of mortgage products are his renovation loan and new-construction loan options. The current inventory shortage and growing restrictions in the insurance industry have put added pressure on the ability to secure homes and financing. Renovation loans, Franks believes strongly, is an underutilized option in South Florida to overcome property condition issues that are causing many contracts to cancel unnecessarily. As a certified renovation and new-construction specialist, he can assist the real estate market in their inventory shortage and also save transactions from cancelling because of property related conditions.

Franks is continuing his philanthropy. With over 300 bikes donated to Toys for Tots, he will continue to donate a bike for every closing. The bike donation was inspired by his father, who started a bike drive in his community over 20 years ago. He has some additional plans to help others going through cancer create a positive mindset to beat cancer into remission.
