In a unanimous decision, the board of directors of the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) voted to appoint Alyce M. Robertson as its executive director. The Miami DDA Search Committee, chaired by Neisen Kasdin with participating board members Jay Solowsky, Jose Goyanes and Danet Linares, recommended Robertson for the permanent position after careful evaluation. Loretta Cockrum also served on the Search Committee prior to her term expiration in August 2008. Robertson, who served in various posts in her 29-year career with Miami-Dade County, has been serving as Interim Executive Director since March.
Robertson will be reviewed by the Miami DDA’s evaluation committee starting Sept. 30, 2009 and will be reviewed annually thereafter to ensure that set performance standards are met.
The board also voted unanimously to endorse Meredith J. Nation to continue as deputy director of the public/private agency, reporting directly to Robertson. Nation, most recently contracts manager in the Department of Capital Improvement Projects for the City of Miami, has been serving as Interim Deputy Director, on loan from the City of Miami.
