CEO and Chairman, The Kaufman Organization

Work Experience:
The Kaufman Organization was established by Irving Kaufman more than 75 years ago as a family-owned New York contracting business. Five generations later, the company is presided over by Jerry Kaufman. Kaufman completed more than 10,000 condominium residences in the metropolitan areas of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania from 1960 through the early-1980s, when he brought his development expertise to South Florida. To date, The Kaufman Organization has planned, built, marketed, sold and delivered more than 30,000 residential units in southern Florida.

Current Projects:
The Blue – Doral
The Blue, a resort hotel condominium, will be the only property ever built adjacent to the legendary Blue Monster golf course in Doral. When completed, The Blue’s three-story buildings, which will be situated alongside the 12th and 13th fairways, will be reminiscent of Old Florida-style manor houses, each housing 16 fully furnished residences. The 240 furnished residences, each of which will have a private veranda overlooking those famous fairways, will offer the comfort and luxuries of home with the rewards and perks of resort living. Completion is scheduled for the end of the year.

Regalia – Aventura
The Regalia is a one-of-a-kind collection of residences for the one-in-a-million type of clientele. Regalia is a 38-apartment (one unit per floor) condominium that is planned to be built in a South Florida beach front location. It will be located at 19505 Collins Ave., where Sunny Isles Beach meets Golden Beach. Features include an infinity edge swimming pool, a complete spa with moonlit grotto, private beach front relaxation pods, and a fitness center overlooking the ocean. Each of the homes features unobstructed, 360-degree views of the Atlantic and Intercoastal Waterway. Regalia is expected for completion in 2009.

Recently Completed:
• Mirage on the Ocean – Surfside
• Highland Beach Club – Highland Beach
• 1500 Ocean Drive – Miami Beach
• The Palm Bay Club – Miami
• Mystic Pointe – Aventura
• Hidden Bay – Aventura

Passions:
Jerry Kaufman is a car buff. This interest began in high school when he was a member of a car club called The Cambusters. Kaufman was raised in upstate New York, where there wasn’t much to do but work on your car. His love for automobiles began the first time he borrowed his older brother’s 1957 Ford Fairlane Convertible. He was hooked. Ever since, Kaufman swore when he had the means, he’d have a car like that. About 10 years ago, that day came. Kaufman purchased a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible with a 283 stock engine, which he restored to its original factory condition, right down to the emblems on the car. That first purchase lead Kaufman to other cars and other opportunities, and he now owns several cars from the ‘50s and ‘60s. Some of the cars he works on himself, and others he buys at car shows or from private owners. Kaufman says his passion for automobiles rekindles memories of simpler times, when you knew your next door neighbors.
