Miami ranked one of the coziest cities in America, here’s why

by Elizabeth Kanzeg Rowland

Fall is officially here, bringing with it all things cozy. The season provides a perfect opportunity to enjoy comforting foods and drinks, like apple cider and donuts, and spend time enjoying the beauty of nature.

A new study named Miami one of the top three coziest cities in the nation — a surprise given Miami’s reputation as a sizzling party destination. But qualities like charming neighborhoods and café culture helped boost Miami to the top.

Using data from sources including the U.S. Census Bureau and TripAdvisor, PrivacyJournal ranked American metros based on coziness indicators like accessibility of walking trails, number of coffee shops and bookstores and availability of cozy activities like painting workshops or cooking classes.

Miami placed No. 1 for the number of creative and cozy activities and took home the No. 2 spot overall. Plus, the city offered walkability and plenty of comforting dining options.

“Miami’s cozy appeal lies in its neighborhood diversity — from the tree-canopied streets of Coral Gables to the intimate café culture of Little Havana,” said PrivacyJournal analysts. “The city’s year-round outdoor dining culture creates a unique form of al fresco coziness, where residents can enjoy comfort food and warm community gatherings under the stars 12 months a year.”

For homebuyers looking for a cozy city to call home, Miami might be a surprisingly perfect fit.
