What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I worked for Ferguson Waterworks selling fire hydrants and underground pipes. It was very cool to see all that goes into urban planning and getting a jobsite ready for development.
Where did you grow up?
Weston. I am a true South Florida native.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to own an exotic car dealership.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I like to wash my car or take the dogs for a walk.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Larry David. He has always been on the top of my list for obvious reasons. I am pretty… pretty… pretty enthusiastic about meeting him one day.
Where is South Florida’s best-kept secret?
It wouldn’t be a secret if I told you, but Chef Dee’s in Lighthouse Point has the best seafood in South Florida.
What do you love most about the industry?
Every day is different. There is no such thing as monotony.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Not having a crystal ball. It is very hard to guess what the market and interest rates are going to do six months from now, and even harder during an election year.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Always deliver a high level of service. Word of mouth is key to my success, and happy customers have friends.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I’m currently watching Royal Pains and White Collar.
What’s your favorite meal in South Florida?
A full-rack of ribs from Brimstone in Pembroke Pines finished with bread pudding for dessert.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in South Florida?
The Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach. The “Dezervator” is pure genius.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I once had an allergic reaction in the middle of a showing and had to rush myself to the hospital. The buyer was very understanding and ended up purchasing his property with me just a few months later.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a small dog guy. Little white fluffy dogs are easily my favorite.
What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?
Paris because I asked the love of my life to marry me there.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Find a mentor, and be coachable.
